THE CHALLENGE
A research facility in Narribri, New South Wales experienced a failure of the desiccant dehumidifier serving a commercial cold room used to store moisture sensitive material.
The refrigeration system could continue maintaining the required temperature, but without dehumidification the room could no longer reliably maintain the dry conditions required to protect the stored product.
Replacement parts for the existing system were not immediately available, creating a risk that humidity could rise before permanent repairs could be completed.
