For health reasons you should consider a humidity level be between 50% and 60% relative humidity (RH). Many people think humidity control in an indoor pool is for comfort and structure protection only, we also have to be concerned about bacteria, fungi, mould, mites, respiratory infections, allergic rhinitis, asthma and chemical interaction. All of these can flourish in a humid environment or even in an environment that is too dry, we call this the health balance.
For comfort and building protection we also select a humidity level between 50% and 60% relative humidity (RH). Below 50% RH you can increase health issues and of course the cost to dehumidify below 50% RH becomes too high (energy balance). Above 60% RH you reduce dehumidification cost but then increase health risk and humidity damage to the building.

This type of system uses a refrigerated system similar to an air conditioner and recirculates the air in the enclosure. Some fresh and exhaust air can be designed into the installation. This type of system provides room heating and cooling. They come in packaged or split systems for ease of installation.
FRESH air ventilation models
This type of system is often called a 100% fresh air ventilation system. This type of system offers the best protection. These can include an energy recovery ventilator (ERV) which provides “free” pre heating or cooling from the exhaust air. Also included is room heating and cooling.
